We handle nearly all Texas state tax matters remotely. Your assigned team manages document gathering, correspondence with the Comptroller, and routine negotiations without requiring you to travel to our office. We maintain offices in the Dallas area for client meetings by appointment, though most clients find it more convenient to work with us remotely. Only in rare cases would in-person attendance be required or beneficial.
Timeline depends on the type of matter. Simple payment agreements typically resolve in 2-4 weeks. Levy releases and account holds can be addressed within 1-3 weeks if we act quickly. Penalty waiver requests take 30-60 days. Sales tax audits and franchise tax disputes are more time-intensive, often requiring 3-12 months depending on complexity and whether administrative hearings are necessary.
Yes. If your LLC, corporation, or other entity was forfeited by the Secretary of State for failure to file franchise tax returns or pay franchise taxes, we can help you get reinstated. This involves filing missing returns, paying outstanding taxes and penalties, and submitting reinstatement documents. Until reinstated, you cannot enforce contracts, defend lawsuits, or conduct business in the entity's name. Contact us immediately if you received a forfeiture notice.
We charge flat fees based on the service you need, not hourly billing. We provide a clear fee quote upfront after reviewing your situation during the free consultation. Payment plans are available for most services. We understand that if you're facing tax debt, cash flow may be tight. We are able to assist most people who we decide to take on as clients.
Texas has no state income tax, so most Texas tax issues involve sales tax, franchise tax, or other business taxes administered by the Comptroller. The Comptroller is aggressive on sales tax audits and can assess significant penalties for non-compliance. Unlike the IRS, the Comptroller can forfeit your business entity for failure to file franchise tax returns. Sales tax audits are common for retailers, restaurants, and e-commerce businesses. Our team handles both federal and state matters, so we understand how they interact and can coordinate resolution strategies.
Many of our clients face both federal and state tax debt simultaneously. We can handle both matters concurrently, which often results in better overall outcomes and cost savings. Coordinating your collection defense across both agencies ensures consistent financial disclosures and prevents one agency's actions from undermining the other. Bundling federal and state resolution typically costs less than hiring separate representatives for each.
